TribeSound Records Online Sessions:

Finally, a system to collaborate with musicians online - from all over the world - at your convenience - on your schedule. We're really excited about this new feature of the site!

How it works   |   Uploading   |   Downloading

Here's how it works:

  • Browse the profiles of musicians, and decide with whom you would like to collaborate
  • Contact us, and we will send everyone an e-mail with a pass code that allows access to a shared folder on our server
  • Upload your song ideas as .wav files and begin the writing process with your crew. As you brainstorm, just continue to upload / download files and stay in communication with the other musicians. Once you feel your parts are nailed down, record them at any studio and upload those .wav files
  • We will then mix and master the tracks here at on our location.
It's an unparalleled way to network with new musicians or to add previously inaccessible textures to your ideas.

Uploading:

Uploading files to exchange with other musicians is easy.  You will want your audio files to be in .mp3 format while you are exchanging post production tracks.  This makes it easier and less time consuming for others that are downloading.

  1. Click on the "Upload" button at the top of the page.
  2. You will enter your username and password that have been given to you by the administrator.  If you do not have a username and password, please contact Chris Cotter.
  3. Once you have logged into the uploader, click on the button to the left labeled "Dropbox".
  4. Choose the project you are working on from the drop down menu.  If you do not choose a project or your file will not show as a download on your project page.
  5. Once you have chosen your project from the dropdown menu, you can select the file from your computer by clicking on the "Browse" button.  If you are replacing a file you have previously uploaded, check the "Overwrite" box.
  6. Finally, press the "Upload" button and your file will be uploaded to the server.  If the file is over 1 meg, you will need to be patient as the file may take minutes to upload depending on the true file size.
